World Championship Bunnock Tournament
Every Long weekend in
August the residents of Macklin dig their bones out of the closet to
host the approximately 320 teams who enter the World Championship
Bunnock Tournament at Macklin Lake Regional Park.
The tournament
itself begins with the registration of teams on Friday night. The
evening is filled with entertainment and various events for the whole
family. The World Championship tournament is held within the Macklin
Lake Regional Park, a mere 2 KM south of our tourist booth. The
tournament begins bright and early Saturday morning with games and
opening ceremonies.
A variety of events occur in conjunction with
the annual tournament including beer gardens, dances, children's rides,
pancake breakfasts and much, much more.
The World Championship
continues Sunday with games all day and concludes with the presentation
of trophies and prizes. The tournament ends with the crowning of the
world champions. An amazing event start to finish.
